Samsung’s flagship is a kind of showcase for Android smartphones that stands in contrast to the iPhone in terms of features and price. What is known about the Galaxy S24 line now, more than a month before the official release.
Release date
Samsung traditionally holds a presentation of its flagship lineup at the Unpacked ceremony. According to leaks and rumors, it is scheduled to take place on January 17.
Design
According to the latest WindowsReport, the S24 will be available in 4 colors:
- Onyx Black
- Marble Grey
- Cobalt Violet
- Amber Yellow
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will offer essentially the same colors, but with different names:
- Titanium Black
- Titanium Gray
- Titanium Violet
- Titanium Yellow
This to a certain extent confirms the insider information that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will follow the example of the iPhone 15 Pro and switch to titanium.

Specifications
Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 processors, depending on the market. Most likely, we are talking about a return to the scheme: Exynos for South Korea and Europe, and Qualcomm for the rest of the world.
The smartphone will be offered in two sizes. The standard S24 will have a 6.2-inch screen and a 4000 mAh battery, while the S24 Plus variant will have a 6.7-inch display and a 4900 mAh battery. In both cases, the screen refresh rate is 120 Hz. According to this leak, another difference between the two versions will be the RAM – 8 and 12 GB, respectively.
The S24 Ultra will have the same display size as the S23 Ultra. The 2024 model will support a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, but the new product is likely to have a flat screen, without the curvature on the sides, as in previous models.
Cooling should improve due to the 1.9 times larger steam chamber. This hints at increased computing, through artificial intelligence tools. The new model will also have five rear cameras, but, unlike its predecessor, there should be a 50-megapixel telephoto module with 3x zoom (according to other sources, 5x).
AI
At the Samsung AI Forum, the company announced its own generative artificial intelligence, Samsung Gauss, capable of running locally on devices. This AI should become a part of the upcoming flagship Galaxy S24. According to Samsung representatives, its model is “named after Carl Friedrich Gauss, the legendary mathematician who created the theory of normal distribution, which is the basis of machine learning and AI.” Developed by Samsung Research, the model includes Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image, which are respectively a language model, a graphical model, and a programming assistant.
